It is a triangular wedge of green with vertex opening onto the mighty Igan River. The Square is flanked on two sides by a commercial and cultural belt respectively. The impressive 28 storey commercial complex at the base of the triangle will form the visual focal point of the Square. It is a unique place for the people of Sibu.

Sports Padang will be completed in October 1998 costing RM10 Million. It has eight international standard tracks, one football field, 14,500 open air seats, 1716 roofed seats, rest rooms, VIP rooms, offices and other facilities. It provides 279 parking lots for motor vehicles, 25 parking lots for big vehicles and 283 parking lots for motor cycles. As at October 25 1997, 80% of earth filling work has been completed.
Sarawak Government is in principle agreed to build a Multi-purpose Sports Complex costing about RM19 Million and can accommodate 5,000 audiences. The complex shall house volleyball court, tennis court, basketball court, badminton court, squash court, net ball court, table tennis and others. The complex will have 674 parking lots for motor vehicles, 14 parking lots for big vehicles and 88 parking lots for motor cycles.

Sibu Foochow Association's New Building
The four-storey new building, to be built on a piece of 1.3 acres of land situated along Jalan Salim, will be completed at the end of 2000. Its ground floor will be for commercial purposes, first and second floor will be for association office, conference room and library. Third Floor is a multi-purpose centre, Total build-up area is about 40,000 sq. ft. The design of the building will be based on traditional chinese culture.
United Chinese Association's New Building
The building will sit on 1.09 acres of land at Alan Road with 11,000 sq, ft. build-up area. The project is divided into two phases. In the first phase, six units of 4-storey shophouses will be built while five units will be built in second phase. Ground floor will be for commercial purposes to generate income for the association. One hundred parking lots are incorporated in the project.
